About the Starway Downloads

The files on this site are for owners of Mathville Starway v. 1.0. They are intended to fix problems pending release of the next version of the program. We recommend that you use these downloads ONLY if you are having problems running the program.

You should download if:

shapes.dxr

In Space Shapes, slow down movement of shapes caused by clicking + and - buttons

you can't control the horizontal position of the falling shapes in the Space Shapes activity, because they move too far when you use the + and - positioning buttons

SPE_WAT_STA8.exe

EXE has been compiled with a more recent Macromedia product more compatible with a Windows 2000 network environment

you are running a Windows 2000 network and are getting error messages about .DLL files

StarwayMAC

Starway (MAC) has been compiled with a more recent Macromedia product so that MAC monitor settings are unaffected by the program.

your MAC monitor setting is changed after running Starway

How to use a downloaded Mathville Starway file:

1) To use one of these downloadable files, you must copy Mathville Starway to your hard drive. To do that,

insert the original Mathville Starway CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive
copy or drag "Starway" or "Starway - Power Mac" AND the folder "DATA" to your hard drive (you may have to scroll down in the Mathville Starway CD-ROM window to see this folder).

Now you can run the program on your hard drive by double-clicking "Starway" or "Starway - Power Mac".

2) Next download the desired file by right-clicking it and choosing "Copy to folder" or holding down the mouse over the file name and choosing Save Link to Disk or SAVE AS...or some variation of that depending upon your browser. Save it in the DATA folder that you put on your hard drive in Step 1. Save .exe files in the same location where you put the Starway.exe file in Step 1.

After that, when you run the program on your hard drive you will be using the new downloaded file and you should notice the change or fix described.
